Good coffee grinders typically come in two variants: electric or manual. The E01 is the first product developed by Millab, an independent team established within Timemore focused on developing high-quality electric grinders. It’s a portable electric grinder, similar to Timemore’s previous Grinder Go, designed to provide you with the ease of use of a motorised coffee grinder in a handheld form. The E01 sports a unique 42mm set of Timemore’s patented “Spike to Cut” (S2C) burrs, which are designed to cut coffee beans into smaller fragments before grinding, ensuring a consistent grind size and faster grinding process. They're versatile, suitable for both espresso and other brewing methods, and crafted from high-grade stainless steel for durability and efficiency. These burrs are adjusted via a dial on the bottom of the grinder, similar to other manual grinders, which is also marked with recommended settings for different brewing methods. There are 60 “clicks” or steps of adjustment, and each one represents a tiny change of a mere 25 microns, rendering the E01 as precise as it is versatile. As far as battery life goes, with the Millab E01 you’ll rarely have to worry about packing it and realising only when you attempt to grind that you’re out of charge. It's powered by a pair of 2500 mAh batteries, charged via USB-C, which give it enough juice for up to 130 cups of filter coffee, or 30 cups of espresso (grinding espresso fine takes a lot of power). The grinder also shuts off automatically when finished grinding, and will automatically reverse when it detects a jam. It will shut off completely if it has to reverse three times in a row to protect both the motor and battery.
